History in South Africa

Our origins in South Africa go back to 1936 when we appointed agents to import and sell Kotex® napkins from the USA. In 1948, we progressed to locally manufacture bath tissue, and in 1950, feminine care products. In 2008, Kimberly-Clark South Africa became a wholly owned subsidiary of Kimberly-Clark Corporation.

As our business has grown over the years, Kimberly-Clark has increased its manufacturing footprint in South Africa, adding manufacturing capacity for diapers, bath and facial tissue, towels and other essential products for consumers across Western, Eastern and Southern Africa.
