Supplier Requirements for Safety and Regulatory Disclosure
It is the policy of Kimberly-Clark to provide products and services that recognize a sincere and proper regard for public safety through regular assessment to ensure that they meet current regulatory requirements and public safety expectations.
This information assists us in confirming safety and regulatory compliance and enables us to proactively respond to emerging new regulations and chemicals of concern. Supply chain transparency is critical for managing rising levels of risk in an environment where corporate supply chain practices are attracting increasing legal, regulatory, and consumer scrutiny.
Therefore, Kimberly-Clark will collect information and other compliance data for its materials, ingredients, products, and packaging. It is the expectation that the requested documentation will be provided within a two-week (10 business days) data acquisition campaign.
- Composition and material characteristics
- Upon request, supplier will provide full material disclosure (including ingredients, impurities, by-products, and residuals) of the chemical composition of all materials, ingredients, products and packaging provided to Kimberly-Clark. Full material disclosure includes the trade name, supplier name, and concentration of each component.
- Upon request, the supplier will provide disclosure of material characteristics such as particle size, dimensions, etc..
- The supplier will communicate K-C requirements down their supply chain and provide access to information on downstream component suppliers for the purpose of obtaining full material disclosure.
- Supplier will notify Kimberly-Clark prior to any compositional changes.
- Compliance Documents:
- Supplier will provide documentation such Safety Data Sheets (SDS, Technical Data Sheets, INCI Declarations, and other certifications or letters of compliance as requested to demonstrate or verify compliance.
- Testing Documentation
- Upon request, and in compliance with Kimberly-Clark material standards, supplier will provide documentation of testing completed such as safety testing or chemical content to demonstrate safety or to verify compliance.
